Hurricane Michael was a devasting storm that in 3 hours has torn apart and claimed 49 lives in the Florida Panhandle, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia. Nearly 1.3 million customers across five states were without power early Friday morning, according to PowerOutage.US. However, Michael’s impact across the southern Mid-Atlantic states and the Carolinas, though, will be minor compared to its trail of destruction in the Florida Panhandle. Panama City, a popular spring break retreat, and Mexico Beach, another upscale coastline spot, were nearly unrecognizable in Michael’s wake.As of April 19th, Hurricane Michael was upgraded to a Category 5 almost 6 months after it made landfall. Michael is the first hurricane to make landfall in the United States as a category 5 since Hurricane Andrew ...

Today, I Eat My Words Hi everyone, and welcome to this week's Zebra Report. Today, I get to "EAT MY WORDS". Years ago, when I started the Zebra Report, I had a client of mine ask me if I was nervous about blogging because once I put my thoughts into words I can't take back those words. If I say them and print them, then shouldn't I stand by them? Well technically that is correct, but practically it isn't realistic when things change. It is okay to change your mind and it is okay to change your position on things. The one thing I do know is that there is always change! Life is fluid and new trends and situations bring about change. Change can be good and change can be difficult, but there is no getting away from it. So here I find myself having to "EAT MY WORDS" because today is a day w...

As the pandemic continues to severely impact our perceptions of normal socializing and safe activities, an old hobby has come to the forefront for many who no longer feel safe going out to pursue an active nightlife -- stargazing. Or, to be scientific about it, astronomy. People have been fascinated by the night sky ever since they could crane their necks up to see the vast array of the heavens after the sun has set. A wide variety of superstitions and myths have arisen concerning the stars and the moon -- today we call that astrology. And whether or not a person seeks scientific knowledge of the stars with High Point Scientific Telescopes or just wants to sit back and watch their eternal and ordered peregrinations, it’s an activity accessible to all. Accessible, that is, if a person li...

Because of the uncertainty with the pandemic, any economic prediction is extremely difficult. However, looking at the limited supply of homes for sale and the tremendous demand for housing, it is difficult to disagree with the majority of analysts who are calling for price appreciation.
